2026 General Membership Meeting Dates & Steward Nominations

 

Please mark your calendars for the 2026 General Membership Meetings (GMMs), which will be held on January 7, February 4, April 8, June 3, September 9, and November 4, 2026.

 

Steward Nominations

 

In accordance with Section 7.9 of the Bylaws, steward nominations will take place at the January 7, 2026 General Membership Meeting. Stewards will be voted on by the members of the specific stations or areas they are to represent prior to the February 4, 2026 General Membership Meeting. The first runner-up in each election shall serve as the Alternate Steward and will act in the Steward’s absence.

 

Only members working in the area a steward represents may nominate a candidate, with the exception of Fire Prevention and Risk Reduction (FPRR) Stewards, who may be nominated by members from any permanently assigned FPRR work location. A member other than the individual seeking the position must submit the nomination, and written nominations are acceptable. FPRR Steward areas of responsibility will be determined by the President.

 

Nominations may be submitted in writing via email to Secretary Bullock at [email protected], with President Varcoe copied at [email protected], or made from the floor prior to the New Business section of the January General Membership Meeting.

 

If necessary, the Election Committee will conduct the balloting process and report the results to the Secretary at the February General Membership Meeting. All ballots will be preserved by the Secretary for one (1) year.
